PR & Communications Manager

Full-time, permanent. £42,000. Based at our Marylebone store, with some UK and international travel.

ONWAVE is an independent womenswear label based in Marylebone. We sell through our Thayer Street store and online, and ship worldwide. A lot of our customers first find us through Instagram or through the events we run: store previews, trunk shows, and pop-ups overseas. This side of the business is growing faster than we can currently look after it, so we are hiring someone to take it on properly.

What the job is

You would be responsible for how ONWAVE shows up in public: our events, our press and influencer relationships, and our social channels. Day to day this means:

Planning and running our events, from in-store previews and trunk shows to pop-ups abroad, covering everything from venue and guest list through to what happens on the day
Building relationships with press, stylists and influencers, and handling product placements and loans
Running the ONWAVE Instagram: content calendar, launches, campaigns, replying to the community
Writing press materials and putting together lookbooks and partnership decks
Helping plan and produce campaign shoots
Looking after VIP clients and press when they visit the store or attend our events
Keeping track of coverage and engagement so we know what is working
Over the next few years we want the brand to be better known outside the UK, particularly in the US and the Middle East, and events in those markets will be a big part of this role.

Who we think will suit it

You have worked in PR, communications, events or client-facing roles in fashion or premium retail, and you have actually run events like this before, not just attended them. You are comfortable talking to editors, stylists and high-profile clients, and you know when to be discreet. You write well. You are organised enough to run a pop-up in another country without anything falling through the cracks. We are a small team, so you will have a lot of freedom and not much hand-holding.
